Magic Training
10-week strength training plan for people who already lift heavy loads and have stalled on linear progression or fixed-percentage cycles. The method is conjugate: instead of repeating the same exercise for weeks until the body adapts to it, the plan changes the main lift every week and alternates two different stimuli. Monday and Wednesday are max effort days — the lift rotates between back squat, good morning, rack pull, front squat and the deadlift variations, and you work up to the max of the day. Friday and Saturday are dynamic effort days with many short sets between 50% and 62% of your max load performed at the highest possible speed to train the rate of force production. Accessory volume is high and always on the posterior chain, the back and the triceps, which are the points that usually limit all three lifts. There are two three-week waves with deloads in weeks 4 and 8, a peak week in week 9 and a max test on all three lifts in week 10. It is not a plan for beginners: it assumes solid technique and the ability to judge when to stop a set.
