Magic Training
9-week strength training plan that concentrates almost all the effort on a single lift: the squat appears four times a week and the rest of the body gets only maintenance. It is a specialization cycle and works on the logic of overloading one movement pattern far beyond what a balanced routine allows and then letting supercompensation happen. Weeks 1 to 3 form the base block with four sets of nine, seven sets of five and ten sets of three reps spread across the week and the load rising about 2% per week. Week 4 is a deep deload because the fatigue accumulated in the base block is large. Weeks 5 and 6 are transition weeks with fewer reps per set and a focus on speed, and weeks 7 and 8 form the intensive block with high load and reduced volume. Week 9 tests the new max. Three honest warnings: the plan requires a known squat max and solid technique, requires eating and sleeping well above normal, and should not be repeated right away — a balanced block comes after it.
